Desmond Lam

Mr. Desmond Lam is Cobol Consultants’ senior partner. He is a corporate strategy advisor and specialises in high-level, cross-industry analysis and insight.    

He began his career at Swire Group’s head office and was seconded to Swire Properties Ltd. After leaving the conglomerate, he was selected to be a part of the core team at Tesla, Inc. In the span of 2 years, he scaled the company’s automotive sales and operations in Hong Kong and Macau by 10x, under the direct supervision of Sir Elon Musk, Technoking and CEO.

Since retiring from Tesla, Inc., he read Sustainable Business at the University of Cambridge. He has worked in the fields of media analysis, expert consulting, film production and education. 

He is passionate about advising senior management leaders to achieve high output and impact in their lean organisations. He loves executing lateral strategy and asymmetrical tactics to win new business in fluid environments.
